"livestock" is a b-side from the LP "spume". I felt it didn't fit in with the rest of the album. Perhaps our most alt-country and goofed out song, it was earnestly written with the effects of industrial animal agriculture in mind. All proceeds will go to the Farm Sanctuary. Here's the "about us" from their website:
"Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming, advocate for institutional reforms, and encourage a new awareness and understanding of farm animals and the benefits of cruelty-free, plant-based living. In recent years, science has confirmed the inhumane and destructive impact of animal agriculture — a food system based on interrelated oppression and injustice."
Other organizations to look into are the Factory Farm Awareness Coalition and the Animal Legal Defense Fund. Here's links to all their websites.

Some educational films that had a large effect on me and ultimately pushed me to adopt a plant-based diet 5 years ago are: Cowspiracy, What the Health, Secret Ingredients, Food Inc. and Kiss the Ground.
From appalling cruelty to animals, inefficient water use, soil degradation, GMO seeds killing off pollinators, antibiotic and hormone applications, fertilizer runoff creating ocean dead zones, methane emissions adding to the climate crisis, pernicious ag gag laws, inefficient global shipping costs: there's plenty of reasons to be concerned, outraged and take action.
Thank you for listening. I hope this directly helps abused animals and at least creates a higher awareness of how the global food system effects life on earth and our human roles as stewards in, of, to and for the environment.
