about

"warm spells" is our 4th studio album. we arranged a lot of these songs together in rehearsals and playing them out live in the spring-fall of 2022. the addition of caelin on the bass guitar altered the dynamics and opened new avenues for the music. it was truly a joy to collaborate on this record and it feels like the record this band was meant to make.

"warm spells" made sense on many levels for the title. as an element it set fire to many parts of our lives, in ways that were sometimes cursed and sometimes charmed. it's no secret to me that certain world frequencies are ramping up and our physical and psychic environments are holding more heat. this manifests in a way that seems to keep us spellbound to a lifestyle that we cannot shake, and don't want to because of it's convenience, coziness or complicity. so we look for escapes and sanctuaries in love, substance, music or nature. i personally felt completely lost and sad while being completely content and in love. this type of conflict creates the conditions for deep, meaningful change and reflection. it's both a warm spell to dispel and one to be enchanted by. either way, we are spellbound to and shaped by our relationships with each other and the natural world. this record feels like an offering to the world to explore this era in our lives as one of transition, truth and wild possibilities amongst the changes. we hope you enjoy the music. thank you for listening.
