jagged earth 04:02
So it begins What an image to imagine The furnace of days Furnishing the future waves Arboreal roofs Harbor universal truths To stop or to start To realize we all play a part It’s who you know and who you don’t Who you know and where you go and where you don’t It’s what you see and what you don’t What you see and what you hear and what you don’t It’s what you breathe and what you don’t What you breathe and what you eat and what you don’t It’s what you feel and what you don’t What you feel and why you care and why you don’t So it decays From saturated Saturdays To chorus of skies Echoing the pigments why The mother of you Is the mother of you’re mother too What chance of rebirth On a slipping, shifting, ripping, rifting jagged earth It’s who you know and who you don’t Who you know and where you go and where you don’t It’s what you see and what you don’t What you see and what you hear and what you don’t It’s what you breathe and what you don’t What you breathe and what you eat and what you don’t It’s what you feel and what you don’t What you feel and why you care and why you don’t It’s what you read and what you don’t What you read and what you write and what you don’t It’s what you feel and what you don’t What you feel and why you care and why you don’t Just one of Just one of The feelings inside you It bubbles In cauldrons Deeper inside of you Just one of Just one of The feelings inside you Erupting From caverns Deeper inside you Just one of Just one of The feelings inside you Erupting In cauldrons Deeper inside you Just one of Just one of The feelings inside you Ruptures From caverns Deeper inside you

Not that I know that Knot that I know that Not that I know that much about that I sighed A small relief Could’ve relied Couldn’t repeat Can’t you feel? It’s for real! Eyesight 20/20 Stories die Legends sleep In hindsight What would I be? What if I tried? What could I be? Can’t you feel? It’s for real! (K)not that! (x16) Not that, not that, not that ,much else Not that, much else, to it, to it all Carnal attractions, carnal distractions Carnal attractions will distract me Shiny distractions, shiny attractions Shiny distractions will attract me Not that I know that Knot that I know that Not that I know that much about that

Had a thought that someone else did Had a motive to migrate Reached the inlet, found a vessel Watched the East shrink beyond the bay Across the waves of pure instinct Had a dream to promulgate Past the mast of Western presence What a future must await! Had a thought that someone else did Maybe man created God 6,000 years in gallic acid 6,000 more and we’ll be gone Had belief that someone else did Had a logic to escape Forget the boundaries, there’s no limits To the destruction we create On the short of transformation Brought a seed to germinate The soil knows it’s true creation Life is good but death is great! Had a thought that someone else did Maybe man created God 6,000 years in gallic acid 6,000 more and we’ll be gone Had belief like someone else did Maybe Life created man 4 billion years in cosmic ashes 4 billion more and we’ll be sand All in all, the world keeps turning on Learn to love, embrace your situation Heavy haunt, the weight is coming on Learn to fight and change your situation Had a thought, a sudden realization Saw the world expressed in formula Camouflaged in cryptic connotations There’s a truth behind the old façade Cool it off, elope in the elation Cherish truth of the anima There and not, in historic preservation There’s a world outside the things I want A crystal ball Behind the old façade There’s a world Outside the things I want

no evidence 03:39
Eyes emerge From an order now observed Through lens magnified You and I Seek to make the most of life To vanquish agonies Though the path Will be riddled with good laughs We’ll reach an impasse Now I’m faced with a choice Now you’re faced with a choice We’ll have to live by the choice Man I hope we make the right choice! With our heads in the sand Can our feet understand? With an ear to the ground? What have you found? If what you’re saying, isn’t what you’re thinking How can we know that you’re hands are not tied? If what you’re doing, isn’t what you want to do Throw off the shackles in spite of the cost Throw off the shackles and buckle on up for the bumpy ride Color the void Channel days of joy enjoyed When we we’re kids Chase the good There’s no dogma that should Prevent you from growing, prevent me from growing Lessons learned, Through all struggle life is earned So never again! I’ll be fine I won’t have to confess Not a word There’ll be no evidence I’ll be fine I won’t have to attest Not a word No matter the circumstances I’ll be fine I’ll be on my deathbed Not a word There’ll be no evidence

settle 02:43
Born into wonder and plunder Shaped into selfish and selfless Oscillate the negative and positive Sculpted into pessimist and optimist We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna Settle ‘cause you said so Settle ‘cause you said so Settle ‘cause you said so Never settle Investing in the nations imagination To accumulate the fragments and figments Relieving the skeptical of the spectacle Signing the petition of repetition We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna settle We’re never gonna Settle ‘cause you said so Settle ‘cause you said so Settle ‘cause you said so Never settle Never gonna settle !

head of jets 02:50
Head of jets in a throwaway fountain Led me deadly to another mountain Forever locked to the primitive rhythm Downright uptight slackjaw wisdom You’d believe it if you saw it like I did Flipped the landscape in my eyelids Shouldn’t use it just because we have it Takes more than words to kick bad habits You scream so quiet That none of use could hear the sound You seem to like it You’re stuck so now you’ll stick around Stuck so now you’ll stick around Stuck so now you’ll stick around Off the cuff with the new sensation Six feet down with old frustrations Plenty of world out to drain my spirit Things get down but you shouldn’t fear it Said you did it in the name of progress You did it for yourself man let’s be honest Got my reasons not to fall apart When a little free time takes a week of work yeah! In that second Right before you realize You missed the message Using someone else’s eyes Using someone else’s eyes Using someone else’s eyes It’s not so clear So change your mirror So it better suits yourself So it better suits yourself So it better suits yourself

It came from the wind Blew from the sea Rained on my head Then leaked out of me Learned how to talk But not how to speak Not how to speak I was a door That felt like a window I was a rock That thought it was water Learned how to look But not how to see Learned how to live But not how to be Not how to You play your cards They suit you well But I know your tell The craving heart In absence swells I wish you well You feel like god But you know quite well You look like hell Nostalgia Ct. The fond farewell I wish you well Ooooooh Ooooooh I wish you well You leaned in With a snake in your eye and Whispered to me “You’re my favorite tornado” Learned how to sleep But now how to dream Not how to dream I’m looking back Fond of a phantom Feeling content In discursive tenements Learned how to hear But now how to heed Learned how to rule But not how to lead Not how to You play your cards They suit you well But I know your tell The craving heart In absence swells I wish you well You feel like god But you know quite well You look like hell Nostalgia Ct. The fond farewell I wish you well Ooooooh Ooooooh I wish you well If I forget Please don’t remind me If I forget Please do remind me

relaxatives 05:28
I’m losing track of Time with you What’s gone we can’t get back So we try to start anew Cut me some slack Rewind the déjà vu Cause I’m losing track So I trace my steps to you Every little thing that you wanna do If it’s still true It’s no accident Every little place that you wanna go In sun or snow We’ll take relaxatives Every little drug that you’ll ever do Is part of you It’s no accident Every little grape in the vast plateau For red Bordeaux We’ll take relaxatives I’m losing track of Space with you What’s gone we can’t get back So we try to blot the blue Cut me a sack What’s up with the deja vu Cause I’m losing track So I levitate to you Every little thing that you wanna do If it’s still true It’s no accident Every little place that you wanna go In sun or snow We’ll take relaxatives Every little drug that you’ll ever do Is part of you It’s no accident Every single person that you thought you’d be Set them free & take relaxatives Don’t judge a book By it’s cover There’s more on the inside Lost in the look Of a lover There’s so much more to live for We all have strange thoughts From time to time Combined with sane thoughts That guide our lives

about

Lag Air is the debut album by Alluvial Fans. This collection of songs were written back in 2014-2015 by Drew and tabled until the project was revived in the winter of 2019 with Gilad Granot on bass guitar and Ollie Elkus on drums and backup vocals. Drew started recording the songs by himself in 2018 before linking up with Ollie in the fall of 2018. Ollie re-recorded all the drums and Gilad hopped in on bass for live shows and recorded Nostalgia Ct.

The record integrates a few genres within the realms of rock and indie music, exploring high-energy distorted rock/punk tunes such as Jagged Earth, Settle, No Evidence and That Knot, slower tempo alternative music in songs Historic Preservation, Landscape #1 and Nostalgia Ct and pop music as found in Head of Jets and Relaxatives.

Being tunes that have been simmering over the years, Lag Air as an album title represents the time it took for these songs to come to fruition. The band intends to close the lag time between releases and is working on a 2nd record of newer material to be released early in 2020.
